The only real concern that we can see coming up when using the iSpring 3-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System is the installation process. It can be a DIY project for those who are familiar with plumbing and have the tools that are needed. In that circumstance, we felt that the setup process was simple and straightforward.
For those who are unfamiliar with plumbing projects, a helping hand might be required.
Our Impressions of the iSpring 3-Stage System
This specific model focuses on sediment removal only. It can remove some rust from the water supply, but still leave the water a slightly red tinge. The carbon filtration action removes sediment contaminants that are as small as 5 microns, so most homes will likely see water move toward transparency.
There is an iron and manganese removal model that is offered by iSpring for those who may have higher levels of rust, iron, or similar contaminants in their water.
We liked the fact that the filtration on this water system is NSF-certified with its filters. You can definitely see the difference when using the carbon block filters on this model. iSpring uses coconut shell carbon for the filters, which seems to improve their overall lifespan and the water quality the product can produce.
It has 1-inch input and output ports, which support Big Blue 20-inch x 4.5-inch filter cartridges. This keeps the internal PSI levels relatively stable throughout the home, even when a maximum usage point is being reached.
Our Grade: 8/10
There do seem to be some quality control issues with the occasional filter with the iSpring 3-Stage Whole House Water Filter System that can cause carbon to be processed through a home’s plumbing. We’d recommend checking the ends of each filter seal before finalizing your installation. Otherwise, we felt that this system was consistent in the results it could produce.
